Backend Developer (Node.js & Ecommerce APIs)

Introduction
We are a Danish company with a growing team in Bangkok, building modern B2B ecommerce solutions on a headless architecture. This role owns the backend layer of our platforms, including APIs, integrations, data models, and the systems that keep everything running stably. You will work closely with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver scalable, well-structured backend services. You are expected to take ownership of your area and contribute to architectural decisions over time.

What You Will Do
- Design, build, and maintain backend services in TypeScript and Node.js
- Work with our Vendure commerce stack and supporting microservices
- Build and integrate APIs between Vendure, Strapi, and client systems
- Model data and design database schemas in PostgreSQL
- Debug production issues at the API, service, and database layers
- Ensure code quality, performance, and stability through code review and testing
What We Are Looking For
- 3-5 years of backend development experience in production environments
- Strong Node.js and TypeScript skills
- Solid understanding of API design (REST or GraphQL)
- Experience with PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases
- Comfortable working with at least one Node.js-based framework or runtime
- Ability to debug production issues manually, not just through logs
- Strong understanding of how systems work end-to-end, not just isolated components
- Ability to explain technical decisions clearly
Nice to Have
- Previous experience with Vendure, NestJS, or comparable headless commerce backends
- Custom Strapi plugin development
- Experience with message queues, caching layers, or event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar)
- DevOps or CI/CD experience
